The wedding goes off without a hitch.
I am writing this a lot later then the events occurred but I did want to include this in my blog so I decided to write a little sumthing sumthing anyway.
Saturday 6th May 2006 at
Ebenezer Methodist Church on Shirley Street.
Even though I felt distant from the groom; (he had previously said over and over again that he wanted me to be apart of his wedding) I summoned my courage, left my pride and did as he had asked me to do. I butched up and put my sorrows in a jar and ushered his wedding.
By the way there was more to being an usher than showing people where to sit, which is funny because that’s all I did for my sisters wedding ten years ago. I was so busy in the days leading up to this wedding and I had my hands filled on the special day itself. I escorted the groom’s mother down the isle and then I picked my nose in the back of the church.
It was a nice and quick ceremony; just the type I like. Short and sweet don’t they say? I have to admit that I was looking forward to the reception which was held at Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort & Spa located on the Cable Beach strip. I was not looking forward to this because of where I was going (I seem to be there often enough), heavens no, I was looking forward to the reception (as I’m sure most people do) because I live to party and there is nothing better than a wedding party. And there’s nothing better to keep those jarred sorrows quiet than a couple of shots and a few cocktails of rum and whiskey and coke.
